Prayerline of Elim International Missions for the week Sunday 1st August to Saturday 7th August 2010 inclusive.
MALAWI
Paul and Tracy Gill and their children leave for the UK on 6th August. They will be here until October and will be spending time with friends and family, with their home church and visiting churches to share about their ministry. Pray all the arrangements they need to make before they come back go smoothly and for a safe journey back.
NEPAL
Our family in Nepal return there on 2nd August after a break in the UK. Pray for safe travelling. The projects they are involved with are really making a difference and through providing basic needs, many are coming to Christ.
SWAZILAND
Amy McCullen flies to Swaziland via South Africa on Sunday 1st August where she will join her mother, Helen Munday. Pray for Amy and Helen as they spend time together and with the team at TCS. Amy and Helen both return to the UK on 15th August.
HAITI
Remember the people of Haiti in your prayers. The earthquake happened over six months ago, but many are still struggling to resume their lives. Many still live in displacement camps. Many are still traumatised and mourning the loss of loved ones. Pray that progress will be made in helping people rebuild their lives.
MACEDONIA
Give thanks for the four people who made commitments to Jesus in Stip town centre this week and for those who were impacted by the outreach of the Braintree Team. Pray that these seeds sown would bloom into relationship with God. Pray, too, for all our teams this summer that God would use them for lasting impact in the places that they visit.
ZAMBIA
Gordon and Sybil McKillop are running Bible schools in Nyangombe through the dry season. Pray that the men and women who attend will receive the teaching with joy and enthusiasm and grow in the knowledge and love of God. Pray also for the evangelists who travel out to largely inaccessible villages to preach the gospel, often to those who hear it for the first time. Pray that they may be heard as those who bring good news.

Prayerline of Elim International Missions for the week Sunday 25th July to Saturday 31st July 2010 inclusive.
MACEDONIA
A team from Elim Braintree are currently in Macedonia until 3rd August. They will be working with Angel and Zoki and the team there in Stip. Pray for Alison, Stephen, Lewis, Wendy, Debbie, Becky, Chloe, Christian and Aaron that God will use them during their visit and they will be both blessed and a blessing.
BURKINA FASO
Praise God four new churches have recently been planted – pray for Younoussa, Aboulaye and Arzouma as they disciple the people and reach others with the good news of Jesus. On 21st July Boureima began a new church planters training course. Pray this will go well and those attending will go out and plant new churches. Many areas of Burkina and Niger are currently hit by famine. Pray for a good rainy season and a good harvest.
INDIA
Roger and Rebeccah have had to move five times in two years which has been very unsettling for them and the children. They have also had bad experiences with three Landlords. Pray for them as they search for new accommodation that God will guide them to the right house that will be safe and meet their needs.
SIERRA LEONE
Fatmata Kiptieu (Swanley) and Nicky Wilkinson (Dewsbury) leave for Sierra Leone on 30th July for two weeks. They will be doing the groundwork ready to set up Heaven’s Homes in that nation, initially caring for children in purpose-built homes and planting a church. Pray that Fatmata and Nicky will experience God’s wisdom and grace in everything they do to move this exciting new project forward.
CAMBODIA
John and Ann Turner are currently caring for baby Chantee. On Tuesday 20th July she underwent surgery to repair a double cleft palate. Pray that little Chantee will recover well and the surgery will have been a resounding success with no complications.
HONDURAS
Walter and Valerie Huezo have now relocated to the States and have settled there well. Little Ivan had to have emergency surgery on 12th July and is still quite unwell, with a very high temperature. Pray for complete healing for Ivan with no need for further surgery. Pray for Walter and Valerie to have the perfect peace of God which passes all understanding.

Prayerline of Elim International Missions for the week Sunday 18th July to Saturday 24th July 2010 inclusive.
GERMANY
Evangelistic events are being held from 24th to 29th July in the Ruhr Gebiet area. 150-200 teenage street evangelists will be involved in outreach in six cities: Duisburg, Gelsenkirchen, Oberhausen, Essen, Bottrop and Bochum. Pray that the witness falls on open hearts and that many will respond to the gospel.
KENYA
A team of 17 from Sheringham led by Paul Hudson leaves for Kenya on Sunday 18th July where they will be building a church. Pray for safety in all they do. Pray the church will be a beacon of light to all in the surrounding area.
ROMANIA
On Sunday 18th July a team of 13 young people from Yeovil led by Howard Davenport are going to work with Bob and Edith McDonald. They will be assisting with children’s and teens’ holiday clubs and will visit local churches to take part in the services. Pray this will be a wonderful visit that will stretch the minds of the young people going. Pray too they will have many opportunities to share about Jesus.
UGANDA
Sian Davies travels from Swaziland on to Uganda on 20th July to spend time at the BIOJEMMS orphanage of which she is Director. Pray for an excellent visit and for safety in all Sian does.Three bomb blasts rocked Kampala last Sunday and the death toll now stands at 83. A pastor and his wife who were with a team of six missionaries all perished in the attack- they were due to travel back to the US the following day. Pray for the families of those who lost their lives. Pray that the tension will subside and that the issues will be resolved.
UKRAINE
Clive Corfield is leading a youth team from Elim Lancaster to Mukachevo from 23rd to 30th July. Clive will be speaking at a pastors’ conference when the young people will present dance, testimonies and pray for healing. They will also be ministering at a church plant as well as at local gypsy villages. Pray for safety in all they do. Pray that the Holy Spirit will use the team mightily and that people will commit their lives to Jesus and people will be healed.
BRAZIL
Rebeca Davison and the children leave the UK on Sunday 18th July. Pray for safe travelling for the three of them. Martin will remain in the UK until 15th August, visiting churches and sharing about the ministry in the Amazon.
SWAZILAND
Jane Bradshaw comes back to the UK on 23rd July for a month’s break to catch up with everyone at Birmingham Christian Centre and also family and friends. Pray this will be a time of refreshing for her ready for her return on 23rd August.
PHILIPPINES
Mark and Cora King returned to the UK on 12th July for a short break – they return to the Philippines on 11th August. Mark has been suffering with tinnitus and vertigo for the past few weeks. Thankfully the vertigo has subsided but the tinnitus is still troubling him. Pray for complete healing for Mark.
PARAGUAY
A team from Rye Park are currently in Paraguay until 22nd July. Pray for Andrew, Adrian, Aideen and Angela as they work with Che Roga orphanage.
SPAIN
Thank you for your prayers for Alan Cobham, Tim’s father. The operation appears to have gone well and Alan should be home soon. The results of further scans are now awaited before a decision is taken on further treatment. Please continue to pray for Alan’s healing and for the family at this difficult time.

SWAZILAND
A team from Elim Halifax leaves for Swaziland on Thursday 15th July. Pray for safe travelling for Karen, Claire, Eddie and Joshua. Pray during their visit they will be both blessed and a blessing.
CAMBODIA
John and Ann Turner returned to Cambodia on 9th July following a period back in the UK in order for John to fulfil teaching requirements. Pray for them both as they take up the reins again in Cambodia. God is blessing the ministry there. Pray many will come to know Christ.
SPAIN
Pray for a team of 24 from Elim Metropolitan Tabernacle, Whitewell, Northern Ireland which left for Spain on Saturday 10th July for two weeks. Amongst other things the team will be running a children’s club and doing street outreach programmes in Girona and Palafrugell. Pray also for Benita from Elim Chorley who speaks Spanish and is joining the team. Pray for an amazing visit, with God-given opportunities to share the gospel and for people’s hearts to be ready to listen and receive. Pray also for Tim Cobham’s further who goes into hospital on Monday ready for surgery on Tuesday to remove the major brain tumour. There are obvious concerns about possible after-effects, but the family are feeling positive about this treatment taking place. Pray the operation will be a complete success.
RWANDA
A team of seven from Edinburgh Church on the Rock leaves for Rwanda on 10th July, returning 1st August. Pray for Dawn, Ross, Kirsteen, Laurie, Lynsey, Ana and Anesu for safety in all they do. Again, pray for wonderful God-given opportunities to speak with people about Jesus.
SOUTH KOREA
Jonathan Aird undergoes further tests on Wednesday 14th July. He has been in hospital recently suffering from meningitis but thankfully is now home. Pray for Jonathan and the family at this difficult time. Pray he will be completed healed.
SOUTH AFRICA
Jack Walker and Glenn Gilmore from Northern Ireland leave for South Africa on Friday 16th July returning on Saturday 31st July. They will be assisting Emmanuel Assembles. Pray for safety in all they do and that they will be both blessed and a blessing.

SWAZILAND
Sian Davies leaves for Swaziland on 5th July for two weeks. Sian is Director of BIOJEMMS running a children’s home in Uganda. She will be meeting with Kevin and Helen Ward and observing how the homes at Hawane Farm are organised to gain from their expertise.
MACEDONIA
Pray for a gypsy family involved in a road accident last week. One brother sustained head injuries and the mother a broken rib. Praise God they are now doing well – pray for a complete recovery. Pray the family will see the love and power of God through Tony and Norma Coles who are ministering to them at this difficult time.
INDIA
As her current visa expires in August, Grace will be returning to the UK to undertake a short English teaching course. She will then apply for a different visa to return to establish an English school. This is an unsettling time with the future uncertain. Pray for peace for Grace and that everything will run smoothly.
KOSOVO
Within the last few months many Christians have been victims of the increasing influence of radical Muslim groups. A man from our Elim ministry was attacked recently which could result in him losing the sight of one eye. Pray for safety for believers in Kosovo and for freedom to worship as Christians.
MOZAMBIQUE
Pray for Jamal, Filipe and Gove, three young men who were baptised last month. Pray they would grow in faith and obedience. Pray for Gregory and Sharon Kane and their boys as they minister in Mozambique.
SOUTH AFRICA
England’s football team has left South Africa in defeat. But don’t forget to pray for the nation of South Africa. Many outreach events are taking place during the world cup. Pray the Holy Spirit will stir people’s hearts to change their lives and turn to Christ who will have the victory.

PHILIPPINES
20 people are going to be baptised on Sunday 27th June at the Montalban church overseen by Willard and Marjorie Baxter. Pray this will be a wonderful experience for those being baptised and that their faith will strengthen and deepen in the days ahead.
UGANDA
Paul Thomas is currently in Uganda at the Ty Cariad children’s home in Namugongo. He will be overseeing the construction of a new house to care for 16 more children. Pray that the work will go well. Pray that Paul will be kept safe in all he does. He returns to the UK on 5th July.
CONGO
Nick and Kym Delport return to the Congo on 29th June. Pray that they will feel refreshed ready to take up the task again. Pray too for safe travelling.
TURKEY AND SPAIN
Tim Cobham and Peter will be at Elim International Centre in Malvern to attend Minister in Training Seminars 28th-30th June. Pray for safe travelling to and from the UK.
NEPAL
Our family in Nepal travel back to the UK this week. Pray for safe travelling.
SAFETY
Your prayers really do make a difference. Many of our missionaries have to drive in countries where the standard is much lower than we are used to and on difficult roads. Many work in circumstances where safety has to be of paramount important in all they do. Pray this week that all of our missionaries and workers will be surrounded by God’s protection and grace and that they will be kept from harm in everything they do in order to continue their ministry in reaching people for Jesus.

ELIM CONFERENCE/BIBLE WEEK
Thank you very much for your prayers. The week was wonderfully good and our Missions programme went really well. Two of our missionaries shared prayer requests at our Sunday night meeting as follows:Martin Davison, Brazil – for protection, health and more workersBoureima Diallo, Burkina Faso – for people to come to God and focus for Kingdom expansion
SOUTH KOREA
After seeing a specialist because of frequent earache and dizziness, Jonathan Aird has been diagnosed with vascular dysfunction affecting the brain. He has been prescribed medication to help with balance and blood flow to the brain and will see the specialist again in July. Pray that this medication will deal with the problem and Jonathan will be fully restored. Pray for Jonathan and Sungjoo who are standing firm in the fact that God is able and are trusting Him to do whatever He wants through this season.
TANZANIA
Shaun and Karen Graham and the children travel to the UK on Sunday 20th June. They will be visiting churches and catching up with family and friends before returning to Tanzania 10th August. Pray for a safe journey and that their time here will be refreshing.
SUDAN
Heidi returns to Sudan on Monday 21st June. Pray for safe travelling. Pray she will take up the reins with renewed enthusiasm following her time in the UK.
SPAIN
Continue to pray for Tim Cobham’s father, Alan. Tests have revealed he has lung cancer with secondary brain tumours. Pray for the family at this difficult time.
THAILAND
Tony and Ursula Wilson travel to the UK on 24th June for a short break to attend their son’s graduation and meet their latest grandchild for the first time. Pray they will have a wonderful time with their family.
ZIMBABWE
23rd June is the anniversary of the Vumba massacre which took place in 1978 when thirteen of our missionaries and children were killed. Remember the families and friends on this day. Pray for the nation of Zimbabwe. Pray for a turning to God and for change to take place in that nation.

ELIM CONFERENCE/BIBLE WEEK
Pray that our time in Prestatyn from 5th-12th June goes wonderfully well. Pray especially for our meeting at 7.15 pm on Sunday when Andrea Minichiello Williams (CCfoN) and Mervyn Thomas (CSW) will be sharing about persecution in the UK and overseas. Pray too for the Lifelink Team as they hold their meeting on Monday 2.30 pm in the Fun Factory when Andrea and Mervyn will be speaking again. Pray for safe travelling home on Saturday 12th June.
HONDURAS
Recent heavy rains have caused flooding in areas of Honduras. In Tegucigalpa the river rose about 20 feet, resulting in a bridge and houses being washed away. The area around Elim’s ‘downstairs’ church has been affected. Pray for Pastor Carlos and John and Rachel McDonough as they do their best to help people, including through the Project Joseph feeding programme.A team of Ministers in Training leaves for Honduras on Tuesday 15th June led by Chris Jones. Pray for safe travelling for Penny, Mark, Carl, Paul, Lexie, Matt, John and Chris and that this visit will inspire and enthuse them.
KOREA
The sinking of the South Korean naval ship has brought relations between North and South Korea to one of the most dangerous points since the division of the countries by civil war 60 years ago. Pray for a peaceful solution.
SPAIN
Tim Cobham’s father was taken into hospital on 27th May and has now been diagnosed as having a brain tumour. He is undergoing various tests and scans. Pray that he will continue to remain positive and that the family will feel surrounded by God’s love at this difficult time. Praise God the nurses are talking about his positive faith.
KENYA
David and Bobbie Tinnion leave for Kenya on Monday 7th June when they will be ministering and encouraging pastors. They return to the UK on 17thJune. Pray for safety and wisdom in all they do. Pray for all the Elim churches in Kenya, that the pastors and people will be very conscious of the Holy Spirit’s guiding and leading. Pray too for Paul Hudson who leaves for Kenya on Sunday 13th June.

John and Val Knox arrive in the UK on 1st June to attend our Elim Conference. John is still receiving physio for his shoulder injured in the car accident on 31st December. Pray John will receive a touch of healing and the pain will go away with the shoulder being able to move freely.
INDIA
Johnny Prentice in currently back in India, returning to the UK on 11th June. Pray God will use him and grant him wisdom in all he does. Heather has remained in the UK. She is recovering well following surgery but is still a bit sore – pray for a complete recovery and restoration to full health and strength.
MARYAM AND MARZIEH
I’m sure we were all absolutely thrilled to know that Maryam and Marzieh have been acquitted of all charges and are now safely in another country. Both of them are certain this is due to the prayers of Christians around the world. Continue to pray for them to fully recover.
